🔹 Act I: The Way of the Sword (Iaido)
Using a practice sword equal in weight to a real katana, you will learn traditional forms (kata) while focusing on respectful movements that begin and end with a bow. Through the ritual of swordsmanship, participants engage in silent concentration and the symbolic act of overcoming one’s inner weaknesses.

🔹Act II: The Dance(Mai)
In the shogunate household, dances were performed during ceremonies and were also enjoyed as a form of cultural refinement. These dances held meanings such as prayers for peace and tranquility, and were intended to soothe the hearts of the people. Through experiencing the fundamental movements using a fan, you will have the opportunity to feel the essence of Japanese culture with your whole body.

🔹 Act III: Dancing in Noble Attire
Clad in elegant silk robes adorned with auspicious motifs like cranes and pines, you will perform a slow, dignified dance. Suppress your excitement, and embody the serene poise of a heavenly figure. The experience concludes with commemorative photos to capture your moment of transformation.

Silent Meditation and the Practice of Respect
At the beginning and end of the program, you will engage in mokusō—a silent seated meditation to center the mind. In the spirit of the samurai teaching, “Begin with courtesy, end with gratitude,” the experience is completed with bows of thanks to the space, the tools, and one another.

This is more than a cultural activity—it is a journey of seishin shugyō, or spiritual refinement.
Step away from the noise of daily life, reflect inward, and awaken the spirit of harmony within you.
A special 90 minutes that may guide you toward peace, from within.
